4G Wireless Evolution - Mindspeed Unveils New High-Performance, Low-Power Physical Media Device Chipset

a developer of semiconductor solutions for communications applications, has developed a new high performance, low power Physical Media Device, or “PMD,” chipset for 3G/4G wireless base stations.

 

Mindspeed has claimed that they offer a broad range of PMD devices for equipment designed for next-generation networks including trans-impedance amplifiers, laser drivers and limiting amplifiers, covering data rates from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps, in support of synchronous optical network, synchronous digital hierarchy, Gigabit Ethernet/Fiber channel and FTTP data transmission standards.
