System And Method For Application Layer Widgets For Mobile Devices

A communication system includes a wireless device and a computer server that is in communication with the wireless device. The computer server is adapted to receive at least one parameter associated with the wireless device and to select at least one widget that is optimized to be run on the wireless device. The widget is transmitted to the wireless device. A method of selecting a widget that is best suited for a mobile device platform is also disclosed. (end of abstract)
